Dining Out On the Road – The Cotton Patch Cafe

An awesome benefit of working on the road is the chance to try out restaurants in the area.  Today, it was The Cotton Patch Cafe in Cedar Hill. I was pretty excited to find this little spot. I was hoping for small town country diner atmosphere.

I got Friday’s little sister.

Now, I won’t deny anything chicken fried and if you throw a side of fried okra on it, well….then I can forgive anything. So, in light of realization most of the food was more frozen than fresh, more iceburg than fresh greens, I opted for a great standard Southern awesomeness.

Chicken fried chicken. With white gravy on the side…..to be sensible.

Was it good?  The portions were reasonable and worth the $7.99, the service was average, and it was what you would expect from a chain restaurant. Would I go back, mmmm…probably not.

What else can I say?
