The Drummer

Bill Chance

Why should we be in such desperate haste to succeed, and in such desperate enterprises? If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.

When Plans Fall Through….Get Crafty!

af36eafbc4241396f8a443fb83f0ad07_83929

Thursday Ma cancelled our road trip plans to Gruene, Lockhart, and  New Braunfels, (“It’s going to rain baby girl. We can just plan another time.”) Fast forward to Sunday…. No Rain, just overcast.

What to do? Well, since I have no money to decorate my place AND I’m an only child….I got crafty……and didn’t make it difficult.

Craft One: Rope and a bottle.

My inspiration: b6ba62fc96e26e9b1bd9260e6e1cdec2

The outcome……

crafts with rope and a bottle

Now, all I need it some great flowers and I should be set!

Craft Two: Repair Bathroom Light Fixture

IMG_4077

Inspiration: None…it came naturally.  Plus this was  looking a hot mess.

The Process……

Roll out foil the length needed for light coverage

Roll up the foil around a paper towel roll, then roll the paper towel around the foil.

Roll up the foil around a paper towel roll, then roll the paper towel around the foil.

Use a tack and punch through the design, the foil, and into the cardboard.

Remove the paper towel and you will have a clear design.

The finished project.... I like it...I think it's a cleaner look and stops the annoying glare of the lights

lowenstein, lowenstein

I think about this every now and then.

Tom Wingo: [narrating] At the end of every day I drive through the city of Charleston and I cross the bridge that will take me home. I feel the words building inside me, I can’t stop them, or tell you why I say them, but as I reach the top of the bridge these words come to me in a whisper. I say these words as a prayer, as regret, as praise, I say: Lowenstein, Lowenstein.

Tom Wingo: [narrating] In New York I learned that I needed to love my mother and father in all their flawed, outrageous humanity, and in families there are no crimes beyond forgiveness. But it is the mystery of life that sustains me now. I look to the north, and I wish again that there were two lives apportioned to every man – and every woman.
